Guangdong University of Foreign Studies strives to implement the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda with actions. Our work seeks how to combine economic development with social justice in fields such as education, public health; climate change as well as environmental sustainability. Actions we have taken such as (Add the activities in the table).

The development of these activities has built a broader platform for our school to participate more deeply in the global network of' Alliance', expand university partnerships and jointly promote the solution of global problems.’

The Institute of International Cooperation and Sustainable Development was established on this basis. The Institute is committed to in-depth interdisciplinary research on the overall framework, policy implementation and specific objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

Comprehensively promote to and engage in the exchange of experience and mutual learning with relevant UN agencies and international counterparts in various fields of SDGs;

Strengthen the exchange of experience and policy learning in the implementation of SDGs in countries around the world; Strive to become a professional research institution with international influence and policy influence in the research field of SDGs.

In the future, the institute plans also provide professional postgraduate degree programs and various short-term training programs through a brand-new curriculum system and flexible training process, so as to train and transport comprehensive professionals in the SDGs field for the international community.

In addition, the Institute will further cooperate with relevant government agencies in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, China. It relies on the School of International Trade and Economics the major pillar school of the University, in particular to explore deepening study of the Belt and Road Initiative in implementing the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. The institute strive to become the influential institute that combine SDGs’ teaching, research and practice in action.

I assisted in the promotion of the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation by helping to plan and organize three side events on the theme of urban innovation, which are as follows:

1. Civitas Novus: Innovation Assessment System Launch Conference: In collaboration with the Penn Institute for Urban Research, focusing on promoting urban innovation planning.

2. Climate Change Side Event: Focusing on best practices for international cities in addressing climate change challenges.

3. Metaverse-Themed Side Event: Exploring future scenarios of smart city development combined with metaverse technologies.

With a mix of full and half marathon options, the race highlighted the city's landmarks and vibrant atmosphere, attracting runners from around the globe to compete in this prestigious competition.

One-Year Countdown to the 15th National Games and Paralympic Games: Zero-Carbon Walk Event

The “Zero Carbon” Hiking Event titled “Walk into the National Games, Move towards Health” was held on November 9 at Guangzhou International Bio Island to promote low-carbon and eco-friendly lifestyles and support the “carbon neutrality” goal of the 15th National Games. Over 900 participants, including officials, champions, youths from Hong Kong and Macau, and citizens, joined the 6.8-kilometer hike. The event featured activities highlighting the history of the National Games and preparations for the upcoming event. A special low-carbon check-in point allowed participants to earn carbon coin points redeemable for eco-friendly rewards, emphasizing the zero-carbon concept throughout the event.

NSLI-Y program

I participated in the National Security Language Program (Youth Group) of the United States as a volunteer language assistant. NSLI-Y is an outstanding student scholarship program funded by the United States Department of State. The NSLI-Y program, organized by the U.S. State Department, selects more than 20 outstanding high school students with certain Chinese language foundation from the United States every year and entruststhe Confucius Institute at the University of Minnesota to implement it, aiming to provide opportunities for outstanding high school students and high school graduates to study foreign languages abroad in summer.

Proposal on the management of aquatic products market in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area(GBA)

Knowing Japan poured nuclear water into the ocean, we are so angry and want to make some changes to protect people's health. Therefore, we formed a research team of 5 students form GDUFS. With the help of our dean and professions, we have researched 5 main markets located in GBA. We found a series of problems, such as unclear market planning, lack of supervision, lack of cutting-edge food testing technology, and also provided corresponding solutions. Finally, we successfully formed a proposal on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area aquatic products market.

Survey on business environment of enterprises in Guangdong Province in 2024

In line with the need to promote development, we need to survey the opinions of enterprises on the business environment in the process of development. Led by Guangdong Council for the Promotion of International Trade and promoted by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, this activity was carried out. The activity designed questionnaires to understand in detail the views of foreign enterprises on the environment, in which college students directly contacted these enterprises, distributed questionnaires and recovered the results.
